Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

It is a privilege to welcome you to our warm, family-centred school community. As a small rural school on beautiful Worimi land, Salt Ash Public School is a place where every child is known, valued, and supported. Our strong sense of community and connection drives everything we do, and our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) expectations of being positive, respectful, and safe guide the way we learn and interact each day. Students enjoy a wide range of opportunities across the Arts, sport, public speaking, debating, STEM, the Premier’s Challenges, and student leadership helping them grow, shine, and feel a deep sense of belonging.

Our dedicated teachers ensure learning is clear, explicit, and accessible, modelling strategies and guiding students step-by-step. Through our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program, we also provide meaningful challenge and extension to support students in reaching their full potential.

Equity lies at the heart of our work. At Salt Ash Public School, we believe every child deserves an excellent education in a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our wrap-around approach means we work closely with families and the wider community to ensure every student feels supported, connected, and empowered to succeed. We are proud of the strong partnerships that enrich our school and help us build a community where every learner feels at home.

Louisa De Souza, Principal of Salt Ash Public School
